Controlled release urea increases soybean yield without compromising symbiotic nitrogen fixation

چکیده
Summary In Brazil, high-yield soybean [ Glycine Max (L). Merrill] – corn ( Zea mays L.) double cropping system might be nitrogen (N)-limited and additional N fertilization can beneficial. Early application of in reduces the symbiotic fixation (SNF) efficiency and/or establishment. One alternative to avoid SNF impairment is apply between beginning pod (R3) seed-fill (R5) stages through use controlled release fertilizers. this study, was applied at 50 kg ha −1 as common urea (CU) or (CRU) with different lag periods until starts (30 days, 60 1:1 mix both times) a randomized complete blocks design six treatments four replicates under tropical subtropical conditions. CU after emergence (VE) (R3), CRU only VE. Using labeled 15 isotope, we analyzed source used by (fertilizer, soil, SNF) parameters. On average, 30 + days) R3 stage increased grain yield 9.2% (354 ) compared control. derived from all fertilizer treatment were almost 35 , high recovery 68%. The not impaired accounted for 71% (220 total uptake. conditions experiments, shown effective supply late demand (R3 stage), increasing without damaging process environments.

Symbiotic Nitrogen Fixation.
Biosphere nitrogen is subjected to rapid turnover, and because it is eventually lost as nitrogen into the atmosphere, its maintenance requires continuous replenishment with reduced nitrogen from atmospheric nitrogen. Biological reduction of nitrogen to ammonia can be performed only by some prokaryotes and is a highly oxygen-sensitive process. The most efficient nitrogen fixers establish a symbi...
متن کاملImpact of controlled release urea on maize yield and nitrogen use efficiency under different water conditions
Controlled release urea (CRU) has been widely adopted to increase nitrogen (N) use efficiency and maize production, but the impacts can range widely depending on water availability in the soil. In an experiment using Zhengdan 958 (a popular summer maize hybrid), three levels of water treatments (adequate water condition [W3], which maintained soil moisture at about 75% ± 5% of the soil's field ...
متن کاملMolecular genetics of symbiotic nitrogen fixation.
Although most organisms, including all eucaryotes, cannot assimilate atmospheric dinitrogen (N2), a group of evolutionarily divergent procaryotes are able to reduce N2 directly to ammonia (nitrogen fixation) under a variety of physiological conditions. The molecular genetics of nitrogen fixation has been studied primarily in Klebsiella pneumoniae because of its close taxonomic relation to Esche...
متن کاملElevated CO2 Increases Nitrogen Fixation at the Reproductive Phase Contributing to Various Yield Responses of Soybean Cultivars
Nitrogen deficiency limits crop performance under elevated CO2 (eCO2), depending on the ability of plant N uptake. However, the dynamics and redistribution of N2 fixation, and fertilizer and soil N use in legumes under eCO2 have been little studied. Such an investigation is essential to improve the adaptability of legumes to climate change. We took advantage of genotype-specific responses of so...
